Nell did not particularly enjoy the company of Platform. The woman was bossy and loud and she spoke too familiarly to Nell, going so far as to give her nicknames that would last only for a second or two.
But she payed well, and what was why Nell showed up at the hospital.
Nell had two sets of identical clothes made to look like uniforms. They consisted of a white tee-shirt and white shorts, but over these she wore a jumpsuit like the one that a janitor or a mechanic might wear. Those combined with the way she wore her hair (in a messy ponytail to keep it out of her face) and the fact that she was usually filthy made for a perfect disguise. She could go anywhere with no one raising an eyebrow, even though she was still a teenager, because she looked like she belonged.
Platform was a therapist, which was a very odd job, Nell thought, for someone with her personality. Nell had always gone to her office to meet up, and that was where she was headed when Platform met her in the hallway.
"Hey there!" She said loudly. Nell was uncomfortable with noisy conversation--it attracted too much attention from passersby. "Glad you made it."
"No problem. What was it you needed?" Nell twirled a wrench nervously between her fingers.
"Uh... it's kind of hard to explain. Would you mind following me to my office?"
"No problem," Nell said again. She began following Platform down the hall.
The girl's phone went off. The therapist turned and looked at Nell, face painted with concern. That expression confused Nell, but she looked to her phone. It was a call from Richard. She thought it best to answer--Sneak Peek had helped her before.
