The Afterdark looked at his computer screen where he had typed the word "PLANS" and then back at Nell. In that instant, he felt like doing something impulsive, but that feeling quieted. He said, "I'm gonna start sleeping in my own bed again, Nell."
"Alright. Should I move to the couch?"
"If you want. You don't have to."
Derek kept his eyes on the screen, but watched Nell in his peripheral vision. At first she was confused, and then she caught his meaning and blushed extremely hard, turning her head away from him. After a few moments, she got up from the floor and left the room wordlessly.
The man chuckled to himself under his breath. Nell was very timid, but he'd heard her 'fucking yelling' and he was pretty sure that she'd give in to his charisma soon enough. She had already become comfortable enough with physical contact--she'd slept next to him on the couch with his arm around her just nights ago. It would not be a huge jump, thought Derek, if she decided to share a bed with him.
Not in an intimate way, of course, just in a close proximity way. For now. Derek was confident that the intimate part would come later. He was sick of her being dead weight and felt entitled to something from her for keeping her safe. The Afterdark was completely unaware of how devastatingly wrong that was and how foul it would seem to anyone but him.
He didn't want to hurt Nell, and he didn't want her to resent him, so he would make her think she shad a choice. The man guessed she'd spend one night on the couch before giving in, based on the sounds he'd heard her make.
Derek knew that what he was doing was wrong, but he didn't care.
Nell blushed furiously as she moved her possessions into the main room by the couch. She did not appreciate The Afterdark's advances. The girl suspected that he had chosen now to boot her out of her room only now because she now was actually stuck with him.
It was embarrassing and it was terrifying. She hadn't realized that he reciprocated her stupid crush.
