As soon as we were home I stormed up to my room and texted Josh everything that happened. Instead of him being supportive of me and saying that everything was going to be all right and that we could meet in secret and box, he sent a frowny face and said that we could go boxing again after my next visit. It seriously pissed me off and I refused to dignify it with a response. I laid on my bed and wallowed in my self pity.
"Knock knock," a voice said from my door. I sat up and stared in disbelief.
"Mark!" I exclaimed. I bounced off my bed and hugged him, "What are you doing> I thought you were in college?"
"What," he said, pretending to be wounded, "You don't want your only brother home for the holidays? Well in that case I guess I better pack up my stuff and go," I playfully punched his arm and dragged him over to the chair at my desk.
Laying back down on the bed I asked, "So what's new with you?"
"Nothing much," he began, "College is college and so far it's been pretty easy. How's my little fighter? Have you learned any new moves?"
I snorted, "I'm not little,"
"Oh, right, because being half Asian means that you're seven feet tall," he replied, rolling his eyes.
I smirked and bit back the snarky comment I had, "Well I guess Mom didn't tell you, but I'm off boxing,"
"What? When did this happen? Did you hurt yourself? Did you lose to somebody? Oh please don't say you lost; you carry my name as well as yours so if you go down then I go down," he said.
"Calm down, I stopped fighting a couple months after you left, the competitions weren't the same without you," I said.
"So you quit?" he said flatly.
"No, silly," I said, "I explained it and they took it, so I guess I graciously stepped out of the ring,"
"I bet they were happy about that," Mark replied sarcastically.
"Well I talked to some people and they said that there was a void that had to be filled so it was brutal,"
"Good, then I'm assuming you still have the same badass reputation as you did before I left,"
"Yes I do," I laughed, "anyways, Mom took me to a therapist and basically I can't box for the next little bit,"
Mark's face lost it's smile and he looked seriously at me, "A therapist? Is she crazy? And to take boxing away from you! I think she needs therapy, not you,"
"Well I think everybody needs therapy, but that's not going to happen," I said.
