Lakas For Life
/Sheelin, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. You asked a question and I answered honestly. I couldn't lie to you- I would never lie to you. The gazebo happened two years ago in ninth grade. I haven't been there since and I don't plan on going there anymore. If you're still up for it, my place at 6?/
Would I go? Good question. I was kicking myself for overreacting, but I could use the company... I decided to go, but I'd be a tad bit late. I couldn't bring myself to show up on time. I was ashamed and embarrassed. I let the bitch Emily get to me and now look where I was.
I tried to do my homework, but it was no use. 6 o'clock rolled around and I was restless. After packing up my books I made my way over to Ben's. I rang the doorbell and waited. Ben's mom, Mrs. Maynard, opened the door.
"Oh, Sheelin, what a pleasant surprise! Are you joining Ben and Emily for group study?" she asked.
"Ben... and Emily?" I said, dumbfounded.
"Yes, I was talking to Emily and she's such a sweet girl! I'm so happy that she's taken an interest in Ben,"
"Taken an interest?"
"Why yes, dear, she confided in me that she wants to go out with Ben,"
"When did she say this?"
"Why just tonight," she said, "Why don't you go join them?" So Ben hadn't said anything about us. I was a little disappointed. Regardless, I walked into the living room where Emily was lying on the ground, wearing a white miniskirt and a light pink t-shirt. I looked down at my own clothes and knew I couldn't compare. Takning a deep breath I plastered on my best smile and walked in.
"Hi, guys," I said. They both looked up. Ben smiled back and made room for me on the couch. Emily scowled, but it was quickly replaced by a smile. She stood up and handed me a notebook.
"I found this in Chemistry," she said and then plopped down on the couch by Ben. In my seat. Bitch stole my seat. Resisting the urge to wrap my hands around her neck, I took her place on the floor.
"Sorry I'm late," I apologized, "I couldn't find some stuff,"
"Well I'm glad you're here," Ben said.
"We're reviewing Spanish right now," Emily said, "So we might be a bit,"
"Oh, don't worry," I said, "I have to study French anyways," This was a total lie, but it would be awkward if I sat here pretending to ignore them. I pulled out my I-pod and phone and laid them around my French book. When I put my ear-buds in, I could feel all my jealousy and anger towards Emily disappear. I listened to my music for about three songs when the doorbell rang. Ben got up to answer it and Emily turned her bitchiness up to a whole new level.
"You think you're so clever," she said. Since I was listening to my music, I was lip reading. "Thinking you can prance in here and take him. He's the most popular guy and I'm the most popular girl. I will not be upstaged by some Irish trash and I will not let him be taken by you,"
