"So what did you do to get therapy?" he asked. I rolled onto my side and lifted the hem of my shirt to show him my tattoo. "So you're the bad child of the family now,"
"Hey, Shay did it so shut it," I said.
"Shay did that? Man, she's better than I thought,"
"You should go get one," I said wryly. I knew he'd never get one. He used to be the bad child, but Mom straightened him out and now he's quite tame. I do miss the old days where he would get in fights and kick the other people's asses, but he's still awesome the way he is now. A bonus of this was that he introduced me to boxing. He's the one who helped me become the way I am today.
"Maybe later," he smirked, "So I see you're still with Lakas for Life,"
"Yes I am," I rolled my eyes. I didn't want him to berate me for my choices like everyone else close to me had.
"Good," he smiled. I gave him a funny look. "Yes, college has changed me. I've met new people, experienced new things-"
"Hopefully no new drugs," I warned.
"No, nothing like that," he laughed, "But I've learned how to see things from a different angle,"
"Alright," I said, "I get it. You've had some revelation and life is different now, no need to go all peace and love on me,"
"I never said anything about peace and love," he scowled. Getting up, he walked out of my room.
"Hey," I said, getting off my bed, "hey, I'm kidding." He continued walking downstairs. "Hey, Mark! I was joking!" I ran down the stairs after him. When I caught up to him I grabbed his arm and spun him around. "What the hell?"
"What?" he asked stonily, "Do you not like what I've become?"
"No, it was a jo-" I started.
"Then what do you want?"
"What the hell?" I repeated. What was his problem? Didn't he get that it was a joke? "Why are you so worked up over the fact that I mentioned peace and love?"
"Because that's who I am. I held my tongue when you said that you were still in that stupid club of yours and then you go and bash what I am,"
"Can't you understand a joke?"
"Is that what all of this is then? A joke? Is life a joke to you? God, you're even more naive than I thought you were. Grow up,"
I grabbed Mark by his collar and brought him down to my height, and that's impressive because Mark towers over everybody.
