“When are you picking me up?”

I grabbed my bags and climbed out of the truck. He pulled out of the driveway as I reached the door. The house was quiet when I walked in. My mom was still at work so I fixed me something to eat and went in my room. I laid out my clothes on the end of the bed. I tuned the radio to my favorite station. The voices were singing of people that had done them wrong and how they would get what was coming to them. The phone rang just as I sat down on the bed. I reached for the phone and answered it. It was Nikki.
“Hey.”
“What’s up?”
“Not much. I just got home.”
“Where were you?”
“I went shopping with Aiden.”
“Aiden went shopping with you? What did Lily have to say about that?”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean he just ditched his girlfriend to go shopping with you. It would piss me off if my boyfriend did that.”
“Lily isn’t his girlfriend anymore. They broke up.”
“When?”
“Last night.”
“Why?”
“She said he had to stop hanging around with me and spend more time with her or she was going to leave him. He said no so she left. We ran into her today.”
“Oh my god! What happened? I want to know every thing.”
“She was pissed. She started yelling at us and then Aiden yelled at her. She looked really hurt when she left.”
“Wow! I wish I could have been there but I probably would have messed up your date with Aiden.”
