Dream
“Not yet.”
“Yeah, okay.”
“Go back to sleep , Baby. I’ll wake you when we get there.”
“Alright.” And I did. He woke me when he parked the truck. He pulled me into his arms and carried me to my room. I kicked off my shoes and snuggled under the covers. Laying there, expecting him to kiss me goodbye, I was startled when climbed under the covers with me.
“What are you doing?”
“I told you that I didn’t have to go home, yet.”
I blush. “I thought you were joking.”
“Glad I wasn’t?”
“Yeah.”
“So am I.”
“Baby?”
“Yeah?”
“I’m not tired.”
“Me either.”
“So what do you want to do?”
“Hold you.” He said pulling me close.
“Anything else?”
“Kiss you.” And he did.
“Is that it?”
“No.”
“Then what more do you want to do?”
“I can’t do it all before I have to leave, Baby.”
“Please tell me?”
“Let’s watch a movie.”
“You’re changing the subject.”
“Yes I am.”
“Please?”
“I want to do everything. Kiss you. Hold you. Love you. Marry you. . .”
“Marry?”
He looks down. “I wasn’t going to ask you like this. I was going to wait until the morning, wake you with breakfast, and give it to you then.”
“You were going to ask me to. . .”
“Marry me? Yeah.”
“Why?”
