Oh great. Now what am I going to do? Either I go down and dig through the nasty trash or I go to Dominic and ask him for more. Hmmm this is going to be a hard choice. Yeah right I’m going to the trash! Before I leave I turn back to Charlie,
"Charlie I would watch your back in the next few days, there are some really dangerous people out there" He nods at me and for a moment. I actually think that he really understands what I am trying to convey about Dominic’s outbursts but then he says,
"Are you one of those dangerous people Lucy" I not surprised at his question. But I never really thought about it before. Am I dangerous?
"No Charlie, I’m not somebody that you should be worrying about" I say then turn around and leave his room. Now.... to the trash. I have to get my stuff back there is no choice.
As it turns out the trash man was just driving away as I am coming out the door. This leaves only one option left for me... Dominic.
"So what are you going to do now that you can’t dig through the trash?" Charlie says from behind me.
"Gah!" I jump "Gosh Charlie" He gives me an apologetic look. "What do you mean what am I going to do now? Hm? It’s your fault I’m in this position anyway. So do really what to know what comes next? You really want to know what position you put me in?" I give him a harsh look. I am so upset with him now. He is doing everything wrong. He should know how stupid that was.
"No I guess I don’t really want to know. I just want you to be safe and healthy Luce. Why do you have to go back to it anyway? Your free now. Do what you want." Charlie says. My dad always called me Luce. no one else in the world dared to call me that after he died but when Charlie started calling me that a few months after it seemed sort of... calming. I turn away from him and go back up to my room to hide my struggle. Do what I want? I’ll do what I want and that is to get more drugs.
