English and psychology were super boring. But at least it is lunch time. I walk down to the lunch room. Lucy isn’t at her normal place when I get to the cafeteria so I go sit down with the guys to wait for her. Everyone is already there stuffing their faces when I sit down. Derik throws a french fry at me.
"Hey Seth you know we have practice after school today?" Derik says to me with his mouth full (of course).
"Of course I know" I say throwing a cheeto at him.
"I heard that Nathan the Nerd was coming to practice tonight." Paul says. We all laugh at his comment. I remember last year when Nathan showed up. He only comes to one practice a year because that is when he thinks try outs are. But he was such a joke there was no way that he was going to get on the team. He had his pants pulled almost all the way up to his shoulders. It was a really fun two hours picking on him.
"Tonight is going to be a blast if he is going to be there. Even Coach laughed last year" Derik says while stuffing his mouth with french-fries. I am about to say something when I see Lucy is sitting in her usual spot with her hair pooled around her head.
"See you later guys" I say while getting up. I don’t even look away from her.
"Yeah yeah go to her Seth. Hey tell Lucifer we said hi and that we will see her after school!" Derik says. I am going to punch him in the face one of these days. I walk over to Lucy’s table and sit in the seat across from her.
LUCY
Somebody is touching my head. I lift my head. Oh gosh it’s Seth. I pull out my notebook.
What do you want? I'm busy
he grabs the notebook out of my hand.
Yeah you look busy. Where have you been all day? I was looking for you this morning. And why weren’t you here on time?
Well Mr. Nosy pants, I was late for school. And not that it is any of your business I was late for lunch because there was a little malfunction in the bathroom.
