SETH
I love to worship. At each string plucked something is let loose in my heart. I know I can always count on an experience with God. I love to watch everyone just raise their hands and praise God. They don’t care about what anyone thinks of them; well at least they don’t in a moment like this. I love to play the bass guitar for the worship team on Wednesday nights for BOJ, Believers of Jesus. I have been the guitar player here for a few years now. It’s so much fun. When you worship it’s like God himself is whispering against your heart. Like that story in 1 Kings, the one about Elijah and how he didn’t here God in the powerful storm or in the earthquake but he heard God in the whisper.
Tonight is special. We have a guest speaker coming from New York City tonight. I think it’s going to be awesome. Also it will be Karen’s first time singing a whole song by herself. She is totally gifted by God to sing. Ok time to focus on God now not on random crap. I tell myself. Yeah I need to focus on God, focus, focus.
When it is time for Beautiful Exchange, Karen steps down away from the group. She turns and looks at me. I can see that she is nervous. She gives me a nod for me to start playing. At first her voice was a little shaky but then she just relaxed and let the presence of God just fill her. I close my eyes to worship. I can feel God relaxing me. I smile when the song ends and wipe the sweat off my head. I put my guitar on the stand and then grab a seat in the very back next to this kid I have never met before. Next thing I know Karen is sitting in-between me and him.
"You did so good, I'm glad you made me come to see you." I hear him whisper. I turn in my seat to face them. I might as well introduce myself while the announcements are on.
"Hey I'm Seth Marshal," I whisper and stick out my hand. The guy grabs my hand back.
