SETH
"I cannot believe you missed school yesterday. You know what I can believe it cause that is exactly what someone like you would do. You know I don’t have to help you I can just sit back and watch you fail at this over and over again" I say to Lucy. She is standing at her locker with her face turned away from me. She totally bailed on school yesterday. I really thought that she would change if she knew she had someone standing behind her. She shuts her locker and then she turns toward me. She shoves her notebook in my face and starts walking away (I know that she is expecting me to follow her). “What! Are you not talking to me anymore? You did two days ago!” I start walking after her and look down at what she wrote.
Yeah sorry to let you down so much. I couldn’t bring myself to drag my butt down here to school yesterday and you shouldn’t be so quick to judge.
I run to catch up to her. I grab a hold of her shoulder and turn her around. Oh my gosh her face! She has a big purple bruise over one eye and a long scratch down the length of her jaw along with some other small ones on her neck. I mean she has other bruise but they are yellow and old and obviously from whatever has kept her from school for so long. But these bruises were definitely not there on Monday. I lift my hand up to her face and barely touch her cheek. She flinches away.
"What happened to your face!?" I say. I look into her eyes and I can tell she is in pain. She looks really vulnerable. But as quickly as I saw it, it was replaced by her usual hardness. She takes back her notebook.
I don’t believe it is any of your business what happens to me outside of school
Then walks away. I start to follow her. Something bad happened; she needs to get some help. I grab her shoulder when I catch up to her.
"Look I’m sorry that I was so quick to judge you but you really need to tell someone about this. You really need help." I say to her. I seriously want to help her. I mean I know that she is mean and rude but no one deserves to be abused like this. She stopped fast and whirled toward me and opens her mouth to speak to me.
