Who I am
By the time I got out of the bathroom five minutes later my mom was getting really mad. I could tell by the way that she was tapping her foot against the floor, the quick eye movement, and the firm set of her mouth. I make a motion with my head for us to leave.
"Don't you do that head nod crap to me, I know darn well that you can talk," She said while coming over to me and grabbing my arm. It was like she thought that I was going to run away or something. But just as she turned around the doctor came into my room.
"Oh, hello my name is Dr. Steve Michael" Dr. Michael said and then he stuck out his hand for my mother to shake. When she didn't stick out her hand in return he continued on with his little speech. (Poor guy, my mom is going to chew you up and spit you right out again)"I am Lucy's doctor and I was wondering if we could talk for a few minutes about her well being."
"My daughter is perfectly fine. There is absolutely nothing wrong with her. And young man you better step out of my way and let me leave before I do something that will really set you on edge." My mom said. I could tell she was holding back just because he is a doctor. If he was any other person he would get a real piece of her mind.
"Ma'am I have the authority to stop you from leaving the hospital until we talk. So you can do this the easy way or I can call security and we can do it the hard way." Wow this guy is something. I don't think anyone has ever talked to my mother like that. I looked over at her face. I could see that she was stunned. She let go of my wrist and sat down in the chair by the bed, clutching her Coach purse to her chest.
"What is it that you need to talk to me about so badly Mr. Doctor?" My mom said quite stiffly. Oh my gosh this is so funny. My mom is actually taking orders! She never takes orders from anyone; that is why she is the boss of her company. I wish I had a camera because Charlie is never going to believe me. I take a seat on the bed beside her, holding in my laugh. I know that it would worsen the situation for me at home.
"Ok now that we are all settled, I want to talk to you about Lucy. Because of the accident she has two broken ribs and her whole body is covered in bruises. She needs to take it easy for the next few days. Also we had to pump her stomach because of her over dose on sleeping pills. We also found a great amount heroin in her system. She is very lucky that no permanent damage was done to her body. We are also concerned for her mental status. This is the third time in the past year that she has committed suicide and we think that it is best for her to go into a mental hospital, if not that into some sort of therapy or drug rehabilitation group."
