"Hi Al," greeted one of the girls at the front desk of the college's recreation center as Alex left the Community Room, where the Community Service Team had held their meeting.
"Hey Meggers," she greeted back. Alex leaned up against the counter with a smile. "How's my favorite culinary student? Made anything yummy yet?" she asked with a light laugh.
"Yes I did. There's a cake in my refrigerator that has your name on it," the curly haired brunette replied.
"Sweet. When do you get off work?" she asked Megan.
"In a half hour," she replied.
Alex nodded. "Cool. Wanna rent a movie and make it a girls night? We haven't hung out in a while and I'm dying to get out of my house."
"Sure. We can rent a movie and do the usual," Megan replied with a bright smile. She too had missed her friend. The two had been preoccupied with their own stuff and Megan was in desperate need of Alex's expertise at all the girly stuff Megan wished she could do.
"Okay, I'm gonna check my mail and pick up my stuff. Text me when you're done so I can pick you up," Alex instructed and Megan nodded. "See ya then, Meggers!" Alex bid a temporary farewell to her friend as she dug out her keys and walked to the mail boxes, which were next to the entrance of the building. She pulled out her mail and waved at Megan before exiting the building.
Alex looked through the mail once she walked through the door of her townhouse. There was a letter for Amber, two for Alex and at the bottom was a letter for Danielle from the Financial Aid office. After handing Amber her mail, she walked into her room and handed Danielle the letter hoping she didn't show the anger or sadness that she felt. She took in a deep breath and began packing the things she would need while ignoring Danielle's presence.
