"Sweet little Danny?" her father asked baffled after Alex explained later that day. "That seems so unlike her."

"I know," his daughter replied as she exited the college doors, heading toward her black Pontiac at the other end of the parking lot.

"Well I don't know what is going through her mind, but she is a fool," he spat irritated. "And you did the right thing, sweetheart. She could've at least showed you some appreciation after what we've done for her." Alex agreed as she opened the passenger door and threw her bag inside, listening to her father continue. "Although, I am curious as to why she's acting this way. I think I'll have a chat with her father. His wife may have something to do with this."

"Be careful Dad, that woman is a hag and has that poor man wrapped around her witch like fingers." Alex smiled at her own inside joke as she climbed into the driver's seat.

"Yes, well that was when you called. I, on the other hand, have more deviant ways in getting what I want," he replied smugly as he rummaged through a stack of papers, looking for something to write on. "Now, tell Daddy the number." Alex laughed and rolled her eyes at his response. He was right. He was devilish.

"Alright, but I'm going to text it to you instead," Alex replied, "I've gotta go to work."

She heard a loud sigh on the other end. "Ugh, you know how I hate texting!" Alex rolled her eyes.

"Too bad. Bye Daddy." Alex ended the call and texted the desired number before pulling her seat belt on and pulling out of the parking plot, thinking of how her father would handle the witch. Her father was the kind of man you just didn't say no to. Sure you could try, but it wouldn't work. It had taken several years for Alex to manage that task, but of course she had a full twenty-two years of experience under her and he had, of course, had a soft spot for his daughter. She reminded him of her mother with her spirit and it would make his heart ache in longing.
