“I’m sorry, sir, but I’m not working today. Find someone else to order around,” she called over her shoulder. This only enraged the young heir even more and he caught up with Elle quickly.

He grabbed her arm and spun her around to face him. She raised her eyebrow, giving him a questioning and challenging look.

“You should watch your mouth. You can still be fired,” he growled.

“Oh, well in that case, please forgive me your majesty,” Elle replied sarcastically as she pulled her arm from his grasp. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m heading to bed,” she finished and turned around without a second thought.

The third time the two had bumped into each other, Elle had been studying extremely hard, but frustration took over her. She slammed the book shut and walked onto her balcony, setting the book on the railing next to her as she leaned against it, looking up at the stars. She inhaled deeply and exhaled through her nose slowly. Once she took in the view and felt the frustration decrease, Elle had turned around to grab her book, but upon doing so, her arm brushed it and she watched as it started to plummet the ground.

“Shit,” she hissed sourly. Elle let out a groan and just before she was about to leave the balcony, a figure emerged. She watched as he retrieved her book from the ground, looked it over and began walking away with it.

“Are you kidding me?” she silently seethed before rushing downstairs, hoping to catch the man before he went too far.

By the time she reached the backyard, Elle could see a faint shadow in the distance. She groaned, something that became a habit a few days ago, and followed it. Elle arrived at a small stable, which sparked her curiosity, and she peaked through the half-opened door to find three beautiful horses. She walked up to the first one slowly and smiled sweetly at him.
