Within the week Danielle had packed her belongings and by that Friday, her mother had picked her up. Alex had arrived home from work in that late afternoon to see Danielle and her brother carrying her things into the van. Alex sighed as she spotted her second mother come out of the house with smaller items.

She left the car and gave her one last hug while whispering, "I'm sorry."

"It's alright," the old blonde replied. She had received a calls from Alex numerous times, seeking advice on her daughter's strange actions. Danielle's mother had been at a lost as of why she was acting that way and she knew it was going to bite her daughter in the ass one day. "It's not your fault. She was unfair to you and now her unreasonable behavior has gotten her into a pickle that she'll regret later." Alex nodded and gave her a hug before saying goodbye and going into the house as the last of the stuff had been removed. She sat on the couch and watched Amber and Danielle exchange a hug and guilt filled Alex's heart. She looked away as Danielle took one last glance at her and left.

Amber sat down as the door closed and noticed the tear that slid down her roommates cheek. She wrapped her tanned arms around Alex, giving her a hug.

"I would have done the same thing," Amber stated before releasing her and Alex smiled weakly in response. "Come on, lets go out for ice cream. I'll even let you pay for me, my suga-mama!"

Alex laughed letting the guilt escape her as she stood from the sofa. "Oh I see, you're only with me for my money." Alex put a hand to her heart looking hurt. "I thought you loved me!" she exclaimed failing to keep the laughter from her voice.

"I do love you. I just love your money more," Amber joked as the two girls slipped on their flip-flops.

"I knew it!" Alex replied as they locked the door and head for Alex's car.
