Third Person exercise: project 365
She stood on the balls of her feet and rocked back and forth, getting very impatient, as her eyes scanned the room for something interesting to keep her entertained for a few moments. She glanced over at least three times before realizing a dirty blond haired man her age was staring at her from the bookstore. Unsure of the reality, she looked away then back again. She watched him grin and a hint of fear spread through her. The reason for it she didn’t know, but it caused her to avoid his gaze for a matter of seconds before curiosity took over and all she could do was stare at him between the two young men in front of her, who were texting away on their cell phones. She never found texting to be as great as people said it was. She found it too much of a hassle and was too impatient for it.

Her thoughts still on the man she continued to stare at, she pondered why he was smiling at her. Not like she didn’t enjoy his smile. It was very pleasing to look at. She could tell, even from the distance, that his teeth were white, he was tall, which she found very attractive, and he had strong, but boyish looking facial features that made him very handsome. She debated on smiling back, but feared she would look like a fool. For all she knew he could have been admiring a young woman ahead of her or maybe even behind her. She didn’t know how to react to such attention in the first place. Was she supposed to smile back? Her intuition said,

“Yes! Smile back! He’s looking RIGHT at you!” but she didn’t. She kept her gaze on him with unmoving features. She felt like time had stopped, until he broke the gaze to take his bags. She had hoped that he would pass her, to give her another chance, but he went the opposite way. Leaving her in regret and disappointment. After he had left her line of sight, she came to her senses and sneered to herself,

“Stop your fantasizing about stupid things!”
