in his ear, "Someone is trying to kill you."
That certainly got his attention. If it was a lie it was an extremely odd one. Anyway, she seemed harmless enough. There was nowhere for her to conceal a weapon, excluding body cavities.
"Saul." He called out, "Cancel that order. Ms. Donovan will be accompanying us to the aquarium."
"The aquarium?" She exclaimed, "You blew me off for fish?!"
"Quiet down Ms. Donovan. Don't make me regret my decision."
"Sorry. Yes. Sorry." She stammered. Like a gentleman Eric opened the door and gestured for her to get in, following closely after.
"So, what is this about an assassin?" He asked, once the car was finally moving.
"Mr. Fitzgerald, have you heard of Grandview Casinos?"
"Sure. Why?"
"Recently my family began investing heavily in the casinos, if you know what I mean." Her look was so serious, but Eric couldn't help chuckling.
"So they're gangsters then? I have to say casinos are really old school."
"Not gangsters." She blushed, "My father, he wants to make a name for himself. Casinos were convenient to make money for that purpose."
"Whatever. Defend your family if you like. When do we get to the part about my death? You only have about ten minutes before I get to my destination, and then we're done."
"Recently father decided he wanted more than the casinos. He's been-" She paused, looking down, clearly uncomfortable, "I think he's been smuggling. Drugs, or-- something worse."
"So a gangster then." Eric looked at his watch. It really took this girl forever to get to the point.
"Yes and-- he seems to think that your business could help him. With his-- illicit activities. But when he offered to buy you out your uncle refused him. And now--" Somehow she pulled a stack of photograph out of nowhere and handed it to Eric. There were pictures of him in his office, at his home, and at the end, pictures of his visit to the aquarium only a few days before.
"Where did you get these?" He demanded.
"He's had men following you. I don't even know where he found them. They scare me. And then there's this."
