"Shh" Was all the little man said.
So he waited. Then he waited some more. It seemed like at least a half hour had passed since he had started to wait with the little man.
"Is this some kind of joke?" He asked finally.
The little man glared at him. "It's not a joke. You just need to be patient. She is coming."
He sighed. Impatiently he kicked a rock into the water.
The rock, instead of falling into the water, hovered for a second above the surface. Then, the water started to surge upward towards it. He watched, open mouthed, as the water slowly formed itself into a hand and closed over the rock.
After the hand an arm and finally a head formed. They were transparent like the water, with bits of plants and fish stuck inside. The form pulled itself slowly upward, developing a torso and finally two legs which stood upon the surface of the water as if it were the earth.
It was a woman, though some might have called her a girl, because she looked like she was about the same age as the boy who stood on the shore gaping at her. As he watched, she slowly walked from the lake onto the shore. When she touched the earth, her body suddenly became flesh colored. She had bright red hair and large pupil-less eyes the color of gold.
That was when the boy noticed she was completely naked. His face rapidly burned with blushing.
The water woman reached out her hand, brushing his face. Instead of touching though, the hand passed through, into his skull. Frightened, he pulled away.
"Billy." The woman said, her voice like the lapping of waves, "Don't be afraid."
"Who are you? What are you?" He demanded, flinching away from her outstreched hand.
The woman smiled. "That's not important. All that matters is that I am here because of you Billy. For you."
"What?"
"I've heard you, since you were a little boy. Every day you came, sending me your wishes. And I heard you Billy. I heard you and it gave me strength."
"You... heard me?" Billy remained where he was, unwilling to move toward the smiling woman, "I don't know what you're trying to do, but I have no idea who you are or what you are talking about and-"
"Billy." She stepped closer, "Billy, trust me. I won't hurt you. I want to help you."
