The bad man was in the kitchen by the stove and he was cooking something that smelled good in a pan. The dog almost forgot how much he did not like the bad man because the smell of the food was so good and the dog was very hungry, but the dog knew the bad man could not be trusted so he did his best to ignore the grumbling in his stomach. The bad man took something from out of the pan with some tongs and put it down on the floor for the dog. Now the dog did not know what to do. He did not like the bad man and he did not want to go close to the bad man but the food was there on the floor and the dog was very hungry so he went over to where the food was, picked it up in his mouth and ran away to the other side of the kitchen. The bad man laughed and the dog did not like the sound of his laugh. The dog ate the meat and it tasted good, but the dog felt bad because it had come from the bad man. The girl came into the kitchen and sat down at the table. She started to talk with the bad man, and the bad man talked back. After a while the bad man brought the pan over to the table and girl and the bad man ate the food out of the pan. Then they were done eating the bad man gave the dog a square can with some kind of juice in it, and the dog licked up the juice out of the can and it tasted like the meat the man had given him. But then the juice was all gone and the dog was still hungry but there was no more food so the dog went into the bathroom and drunk as much as he could out of the toilet. The water made his stomach feel a little better but he was still hungry.
Then he heard the sound of the man climbing the stairs and he hurried out to see what the man was doing. He found the man in another bedroom upstairs and the man had a roll of something silver and he when unrolled it it turned into long sheets of silver. The bad man was putting it over the windows so that the room was very dark. The dog did not know why the man was putting the silver sheets over the windows, but he watched him anyway. The bad man did not know the dog was watching him until he turned around and saw the dog. He jumped a little and said some words and the dog thought he sounded scared and the dog was glad that the bad man was afraid of him. The bad man tried to pet the dog, but the dog moved away because he did not like the bad man. The bad man said some more words and shut the door to the room. The dog stayed by the door for a while to see what the bad man would do, but after a while he heard a rasping grumbling noise coming from inside the room and the dog knew the bad man was asleep.
So the dog went back down the stairs and pushed his way out of the back door. He found the girl pumping water from the water pump into the trough. The big animal was standing by the trough and lapping up the water in big loud slurps.
