"Dunno, there's no food in this one though".
He held up a small round object, and then tossed it over his shoulder and it clattered away, somewhere in the gloom.
"Whole mess of weird things. How'd you carry all this anyway?".
The boy smiled, conspiratorially. "Well... I, may, have used some magic", he said, with the apparent attempt to sound clever about it.
It didn't quite have the intended effect.
Mari stood up so suddenly, that she shoved the box from underneath her and the boy and dog jumped backwards.
"What!?", she said, advancing on the now cowering duo, "Magic? You know you can't use that here! You'll get yourself killed!"
A fire burned in her eyes, and with her fists were rolled up in a ball. She looked ready to explode at any moment.
“What did you think you were doing!? Didn’t I tell you before?!”
“I didn’t thi-”
“Yes! That’s right! You never think!”
She advanced on the boy and the dog, causing them to move backwards with some speed, his eyes were filled with fear.
From behind her, a hand was placed her shoulder. Garas had taken off the helmet and underneath was another fur-covered face. He looked quite similar to the still cowering boy, but larger, more muscular and with mostly brownish hair covering his face.
"Mari, come on, don't turn on the kid, he didn't know any better."
She still stared directly at the boy, who was still trying to back away, but finding nothing but the wall. His face was a picture of fear, ears lying flat on his head, eyes widened in fright. The dog next to him shared a similar expression of sheer terror.
"Keep calm Marian, it won't help anyone if you get angry."
Her fists unclenched slowly and her body relaxed slightly, but her eyes still blazed fiercely.
“Thomas, you...”
“Mari...”
Then she relaxed, her shoulders falling and let out a large sigh. She strode back to the window and stared at the outside world.
"Thomas...", she started, then she put her hand to her face and sighed, again.
