   "Silence. All of you".
This was yet another voice, but this one seemed calmer and more in control. It brought about a deathly silence.
Thomas pressed his ear closer to the door, just in case he might miss something. The voice continued.
"What matters it that we have come under possession of the necklace, and what we should be deciding is what happens next. Whether or not we were seen is of no importance any more".
He couldn't quite make out what kind of voice it was, it was too muffled. He pressed closer to the door.
"We should in fact, be concentrating on the one who has followed him here."
Thomas froze. His mind raced, surely he hadn’t made any sounds? How could they know he was here? He was about to move away from the door when the voice came again.
"I suggest you enter, slowly. If you try to run, you will die, and I can assure you, no one will ever find out."
He gulped, fear rising again, the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end. It couldn't mean him? Surely not?
He gripped his cleaning equipment and slowly opened the door.

Some distance away, the girl in a blueish-white dress was still sitting down, scribbling in her notebook. She looked up and saw a large grey dog sitting in front of her, panting softly and wagging his tail.
"Oh hello, you're the dog from before aren't you?" She reached out a hand and patted the dog. It barked happily, and then ran around in circles for a while.
She smiled and got back to writing, then she closed the book with a little snap and stuffed it back into her bag. She looked up and down the empty street. It was quiet here, the faint buzz of background noise was quite relaxing. She stretched out and yawned, the dog stopped running and copied her, his mouth opening in a much wider yawn.
"Heh, you're kinda cute. Did that boy send you back?" It barked in agreement and she patted him again. She took a look around again, and noticed something shiny on the floor. She reached over and picked it up, it was round and circular, like a coin but with a slight bulge in the middle, it gleamed silver with some intricate markings stretching out from the middle, crawling over the disc.
"Oh, do you think he dropped this?". The dog barked in agreement.
