And when she had just been about to arrest a particularly suspicious woman, she had been blown backwards and smashed into a wall. It had not been a good morning, and with the state she was in right now, it wasn’t looking to be a very happy afternoon either.
She managed to pull herself up and lean against the wall with her arm. Every movement made her ache, and it took a while for her head to clear enough to look around. The street was currently empty, save for the few people not so lucky enough to be wearing armour when the wall hit them. She staggered a few steps, clutching her right arm with her not so much better left. She seemed to have made her way in front of the rubble of the now collapsed building. Feeling had started to return to her head and she wrenched off the helmet on her head. It seemed to have been dented by a rather large piece of brick, but was otherwise still intact. She felt a small amount of pride in that, but it currently wasn’t in a very comfortable shape to wear.
She chucked it to the side and it landed with a dull thud and a small ‘oof’ sound. It took a while before she realised that this wasn’t the normal noise for a helmet landing on rubble to make. There seemed to be an arm poking out of the assorted rubble and it was making small clawing movements on the surrounding brick. Getting to her knees she managed to clear away some of the smaller pieces of rubble, and found a matching set of a hooded head and another arm. Hefting it from behind she managed to lift him out of the rubble. He was wearing a hooded cloak and a brownish vest and trousers. It might not have counted as suspicious on a normal day, but to her, it had been anything but.
"All right, you’re coming with me, anything to say for yourself?"
"Mrrg?"
"Yeah, that’s what I thought you’d say."
She grabbed a set of handcuffs and clamped his arms behind his back.
"By order of the Arcor city guard, you are hereby taken under arrest." She pulled him up and dragged him to his feet.
"If necessary you will be held indefinitely and without question." She pushed him forward, still groaning.
"And by god, you’ll have a nice cold cell if you give me any trouble, got it?"
Feeling slightly uplifted, she marched off towards the centre of town, captive in tow.

Thomas, who was currently chasing a group of group of suspicious looking people, and, at the same time, being chased by a large number of angry people himself, also thought that today could have turned out a bit more normal. Alice probably thought that too, but she was too busy trying to keep up with him to think of anything other than running and breathing.
They moved around a carriage full of sheep and ducked and weaved between the now
