"It looks very pretty, I think we should return it don't you?" Another bark.
She straightened up and dusted herself off.
"Come on, I think we should go look for him, he's probably worried about you as well".
She slipped the disc into her pocket and set off down the road, with the dog following at her heels. She took in the sights around her as she walked, the old brickwork shops selling pots and pans, some nice looking houses with the curtains pulled back ever so slightly so that the occupants could peer out at the commotion without being seen, the smell of baking bread and so many other small things that made up the city experience. It was nice to be somewhere with so many people, though she wished that her necklace hadn't been taken, but apart from that, it seemed like a nice place. Those guards had been so helpful as well, they had just ran after the man as soon as he had shouted, that was very kind of them.
She came to the alley entrance, most of the guards had finally dispersed into the alleyway, but some lay groaning on the floor, apparently the crush had been too much for them.
She hurried over to one of them.
"Oh dear, are you okay?"
The guard groaned again and then opened his eyes slightly.
From his perspective, all he could see was a bright light silhouetting an angelic figure. He'd never believed in an afterlife, but if there was one, he was quite happy with the sight.
"Uhhh... Where am I?" He sat up groggily, and looked around. He wasn't in the afterlife after all, unless that afterlife was exactly the same as the life he had just left, and in that case, he decided he didn't want to believe in an afterlife any more. The attractive figure was still there though, staring intently at him.
"Err... Oh right. Yes, I think I am".
"That's good, would you like some help getting up?" She held out a hand, feeling a strange sense of deja vu, but, as it were, the other way around. Vu deja maybe? The thought slipped her mind.
The guard stared at it, or at least she thought he stared at it, it was hard to tell with those helmets on. She turned her head slightly, still offering the hand, but looking slightly puzzled.
"Your... Left hand", said the guard, quietly.
"Huh?" She drew her hand back and looked at it, apparently with great
