Ever since... maybe '04 or '05, my mom's shoulders have been ruined. The doctors kept botching up her surgeries. And then she would keep pushing herself too hard too soon afterwards.
So far in total, she's had 5 or 6 surgeries on her shoulders alone. There's one on her toes, and one on her down-pants area.
So yeah, she's pretty messed up. But she's so strong. Believe it or not. She's the strongest person I know, but the person who's had to endure the most pain.
She's petite, and small, but dude, she's buff, but like a slim buff.
So right now, she's in a lot of pain, since her back's messed up too, and her shoulders hurt from her latest surgery. But she has to work at the hospital, to keep our benefits.
My dad's working hard too. He made his own business. Started about two years back, and now has his own pretty sweet company truck.
Life's taken its toll on the two of them. And on their relationship.
It seems like, overnight they've both changed into completely unrecognizable people to each other.
From what I catch, they're trying to make it work, trying to figure out how to make each other happy.
But, I have my suspicion that they've been on the rocks since my 11th birthday. Where they had this huge fight, and it started over icing but it was something much. Much bigger than that.
My brother was sobbing, he started walking down the street, just to get away from it all. I started to follow him. Since I was scared out of my mind too, and so young. I didn't realize the big picture of it all. They stopped us, and stopped fighting.. for then. They admitted they've been on the rocks for about 6 months before my birthday. I was sniffling. And I remember this so vividly. Trying to connect their hands together. So they would hold hands. And I tried to get them to say 'I love you' to each other. But to my 11 year old heart. They wouldn't. It still breaks my heart each time I remember that moment to this day.
