"I don't know what you'll do to me, I never do" I say back to him with my eyes down not looking at him. I learned my lesson the other times when I looked at him in the eye. He slapped me across the face and kicked me in the ribs telling me that he deserves more respect from me and that I should never look him in the eye again. I have a few other times, forgetting the consequence of doing so, but each time the punishment got worse.
"Well don't worry there are too many witnesses here for me to take proper actions against you" He says with a sly smile on his face.
"What did I do to get 'actions' taken against me? I don't remember ever doing anything to you Dominic" I say slowly and easily to show that I am not challenging his judgment on me because that would just make everything worse.
"You tried to get away from me by killing yourself. I took it personally and you are going to pay for that. Also you cost me money because when Dominic isn't happy then business isn't good" He says to me while giving me a look like he is disgusted by my very presence. "But even under those circumstances I am going to allow you to come back. I know that I said that I wouldn't allow you but I am feeling gracious tonight"
"I'm not sure..."I say with complete and udder hesitation.
"What do you mean" He says but then changes his voice to an imitation of mine "'I'm not sure.'" Dominic looks down at me and gives me one of his cocky smiles "Don't you want to be with me anymore?" I swallow hard before I answer and think through what I am going to say. Dominic can get upset pretty easily and then he'll lose his mind.
"I want to be with you, it's just that charlie--" I start to say but then he cuts me off.
"Your brother is keeping you from me?" He he almost yells. He has that angry look in his eye. I have to act quickly.
"NO! That was stupid to say; no he's not keeping me from you. Please forget I said that please!" I try pleading with him. It usually works when he is in a good mood. He looks at me and tries to see if I'm being truthful.
"I could kill him just to get him out of the picture if that's what the problem is." He says to me while inspecting his nails. I suck in my breath. He looks at me with a
