It feels like my eyes have been glued shut but I peal them open anyway. The sun coming from my window momentarily blinds me. I flashback to the dream I had. I remember being blinded but I don’t know from what. My nose starts to itch so I try to reach up to itch it but my hands are tied to the bed. What is happening to me!? Is everything that happened in my dream going to come true? Are there going to be screaming people next?
"AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!" I hear from a girl in the hall. I look over and see that her mother has collapsed on the floor. Oh my, I squeeze my eyes shut. I’m afraid. Where’s Charlie? Why isn’t he here? Just as I thought that he walked into the room. He looks horrible, like he has stayed up all night long.
"Lucy! Let me go get the nurse to untie your hands" Charlie said and then left the room. One minute later he comes back with an old fat nurse. She’s really ugly and I already don’t like her. But yet again I don’t like anyone except Charlie so I guess that is expected.
"How are you doing today Deary? You have been sleeping for two days and we had to tie your hands to the bed because you kept on pulling out your IV...." she kept on talking to me but I didn’t listen to her after that. I looked over at Charlie as she babbled on and on about who knows what. Charlie looked back at me. I could see how tired he was. I wonder if he ever went home.
The ugly nurse lady untied my hands and I rubbed the indentations that they left on my wrists. I make the sign for quiet to get her to shut up. That’s when I noticed all of the bruises on my arms. I hear Charlie explaining to the ugly lady nurse that I can’t or won’t talk but I wasn’t really paying attention to what he was saying. All I was concerned about were the bruises. I knew immediately that they weren’t from the car accident. They were from Dominic. Dominic can get pretty violent when he’s about to lose a "costumer". So when I told him that I was going to try to kill myself again, he went ballistic. He told me that if I don’t succeed, that I shouldn’t bother to come back like I had before. "I’ll visit you in the hospital" were the last words he said to me.Then he beat me up for the money he would be losing from me. But no one will know about it because of my car accident. That wasn’t the first time he beat me. He does all the time when he gets mad.
