The Well
Tom was a city kid. He had never been camping before. He lived like normal people in the city do. He had no idea what camping was like. He expected it to be a lot of fun. So when his dad told him that the whole family was going camping, he jumped for joy. When he got to the campsite, his dad said that he needed someone to get water from the well. Tom looked around. "Aren't there any faucets?" he asked. "No, son, this is real camping. There are no faucets." His younger sister laughed. "Tom knows nothing about real camping" she said. Tom was getting irritated. Dad said:"It's fine, I'll get water from the well." Tom said: "No dad, I'll do it." Dad said "If you want to, son."
The well was about a mile away. Tom was huffing and puffing by the time he got there. He lowered the bucket all the way down and then pulled it all the way up. There was still no water. He peered over and fell deep, deep down into the well. He wished he hadn't volunteered to get water from the well. He realized that it was dry down in the well. He took out his smartphone and called his parents, his sister taunting him in the background. His parents said that it'll take an hour or so. He lied down in the well and he suddenly found himself falling down, down, down. He landed in an oasis with water. There were no people for miles. He took the water and filled his bucket. Then he tried jumping and climbing but none of that worked. He was stuck here. He didn't know what to do.
