Random Log: Camping
Once we went camping. First, they told us that we need to treat the nature properly. They told us not to pick up rocks or sticks or pick flowers. They said to only take photos and leave footsteps. Then, they had a flag ceremony but we missed it because my sister needed to go to the bathroom. After that, we learned different things about camping like how to build a tent and what to do in bad weather and how to deal with bugs and what Poison Ivy looks like. Then, we had lunch. It was a sack lunch that my mom made. It was a chicken sandwich and some apples. The lunch was delicious. Next, we learned other things like how to start a fire and what to pack when you go camping. We also learned how to wash dishes when you go camping. After that, we had another flag ceremony. This time I was one of the color guards. I had to march to the flag and help fold it. Then we started cooking dinner. We made a peach cobbler using peaches and cake mix and cinnamon. We also made tortillas, which had beans, cheese, chicken, sour cream, and some salsa on top. The salsa was spicy. After eating tortillas and peach cobbler, we had smores. We roasted marshmallows and put chocolate on top. I don't like graham crackers, so i just had marshmallows and chocolate. It was delicious, especially when roasted. I ate five marshmallows. Next, my parents had to turn in some forms and while we were doing that, the lady who was there was talking to us about the environment and things like that. It was very interesting. When my parents turned in the form, we went to their cabin and we went to the bathroom. The ladies there were telling us that they used to roast marshmallows to a golden brown. I told them that we just burned it black. Finally, we went home. We were very tired. It was a fun trip.
