"I have good news. You are being discharged. I have put you on the organ transplant list, so you can wait for it at home. You will have to come for check ups regularly." I was shocked. Not at what she said but at what Malcolm said. "Isn't that good news? You can go home and be comfortable." I nodded and gave her a smile. What she really meant is that there is nothing more I can do here so we are sending you home and hoping. She returned my weak smile and left the room. "I'm sorry." I looked over at Maria. Her expression was sympatheitic. Her face looked as though she was miles away. "I know that you know what she really meant. I'm going to do anything I can for you." I nodded my head while I took out my journal.
They're sending me home. It may just be for good. If I don't get that transplent then I won't make it. Something even strabger happened tonight. Malcolm has agreed to be my friend. It was strange that he was there when I called. He didn't like going into the hospital. I don't understand why he hangs out on top of a hospital though. Maybe he is a patient...
I closed the journal, and I looked over at Maria. She was slumped over in the chair. She was snoring quietly. I opened the journal back up, and tore out a small piece of paper.
Thankyou. For everything. I hope you will come and visit me.
P.S. Pinehurst apartments. Apartment number 78.
I put the small slip of paper in her front pocket. I got back in bed, and rested my head against the pillow. I was tired so I wrapped the blanket around me. The darkness came quickly and didn't leave until the next day. I woke up to Mrs. Kelim shaking me. "Hey Maria is waiting downstairs to take you home." I nodded my head. She ran out of the room. I jumped up and put my black turtle neck back on. I slipped my converse on but didn't lace them. I put Malcolms jacket on. I grabbed my journal and ran to the roof.
I opened my journal and sat down in the snow.
I don't know how you knew, but they are discharging me. I want you to see you still. I will meet you on top of Pinehurst apartments at the same time. ~Anastia
I ripped the page out and folded it. I scooped a huge hole out of the snow. I placed the note in the snow. I sat up and turned around. A huge dent in the bricks were right beside the door. I ran my hand along the dent. I never noticed it before. I quickly ran back down the stairs. I went straight into the car parked out front. Maria jumped when I got into the car. "Ready?" she asked. I looked up at the roof and then nodded my head.
