It was getting alittle easier to talk. I tried to give him a small smile. "Thankyou, Malcolm." It didn't seem like he heard me because he brushed past me to the ladder on the side of the building. I couldn't do anything else. I watched him climb down the ladder, out of sight. I waited a few moments, hoping he would come back, but he didn't. I finally walked back down the stairs, and dragged the pole back to my room.
Malcolm's
I jumped off the ladder as soon as the girl wasn't looking. I landed safely on my feet. I shouldn't have healed her. Why coudn't she stop touching me? I'm not going to get the smell out for weeks. I walked the short distance to the opening in the trees. I jumped and I could see the tree tops. Then I was soaring through the sky. When I landed all I could smell was her blood. I shed the long black jacket at the front door, and left it outside. The cabin I lived in was anything but simple. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, and two libraries. The only room that was furnished was my room. The rest of the house only contained books. I glided up the stairs to my room. I kicked my shoes off to the side. I closed all the curtains to the windows.
I laid in bed thinking about that girl. Why is she so weak. She could barely talk. She so ignorant, so why can't I stop thinking about her?
Anastia
I sat up in my hospital looking at the small black ribbon. The palm of my handed didn't hurt anymore. I gently pulled on the ribbon, and it came loose. I looked closly at my hand, but only saw a few tiny scratches. The door to my room clicked. I grabbed the ribbon and shoved it under the blankets. "How did you get your Iv out?" She took the needle and slid it back to my arm. "Come tell me next time." She patted my arm and left. I dragged the pole to the bathroom. I turned the faucet on hot. I ran the ribbon under the water. I wanted to give the ribbon back to Malcolm, but I didn't want it to have blood on it. I folded the ribbon, and went back to bed. I fell asleep in a few short minutes with the ribbon neatly in my hand.
"Anastia, it's time to get up." A nurse with a tray was hovering over me. I sat up in the bed. She sat the tray in my lap, but not before giving me a look of disappointment. "You really need to change into a gown."
