It was strange that I didn't dream of darkness and pain. It wasn't of anything, but I didn't feel any pain. I wasn't sure when I woke up because I couldn't see much. I sat up and there was a loud thud. I blinked a few times until my eyes adjusted. I got up flipped on the light switch. My book was on the ground and my tea was cold sitting on the table. Then I realized it was past the time I was suppose to meet Malcolm. I ran to my room and slipped on some sandals and grabbed his jacket. I ran out the door and let it slam behind me. There was no one out there. I was dissappointed, but I couldn't blaim him. It was cold outside and there was no telling how long I was asleep. I turned around but stopped short. Malcolm was sitting on the small chair by the door.
I ran over to him and touched his face. He was freezing, but he woke up just fine. "Hey, your finally awake?" He stretched out his arms. I wrapped his jacket around him. "Why didn't you come in? You could have woken me up. You could have gone home and gotten warm." I grabbed his hand and tried to pull him up. "I told you I was going to behave so I waited." He got up from the chair. I let go of his hand because it was starting to sting. He was like ice. "Yeah, but waiting outside while I'm snoozing warm and comfy inside gives you permission to be a little rude." He was just laughing sharing some inside joke with himself.
I started to walk over to the kitchen, but he grabbed my wrist. It wasn't as cold as it had been. It was cold, but not freezing. "I'm fine. Calm down and have a seat." I did as he said and sat next to him. "So, I'm guessing you got my note? How did you know that I wouldn't be there tonight." He shrugged his shoulders. "I heard some nurses talking about it when you dragged me inside the hospital." I didn't remember seeing any nurses, but then again I was pretty focused on Malcolm. "I don't believe I dragged you into the hospital. Didn't feel like sharing that information with me?" He flung the cover and the jacket onto my lap. "Well, that girl interupted me, and I had to leave." I looked over at him. He was wearing a simple black shirt and some dark jeans. His jet black hair was shinier than usual. I wanted him to start wearing his jacket.
"Is your hair wet?" I asked confused. He ran a hand through his hair. "Yeah, I guess it is." I ran to my bathroom and grabbed a towel. I ran up behind him through the towel over his head. "Hey what the crap!" I scrubbed his head trying to dry his hair. "I'm not the only one that's going to be staying the hospital." He sighed and crossed his arms. "Are you finished yet?" He asked through the towel. I lifted the towel and his hair was a mess. I tossed the towel onto the floor. I came back around a
