"I'm sorry. I will be nice to you." I tried to tug my hand away. "I'll be your friend." He let go of my hand, but I didn't go anywhere. "Do you promise you won't be mean?" He sighed. "Yeah, I promise." He reached up and wiped the corner of my mouth.
Malcolm
I heard her. It was so loud that it woke me up. I ripped the covers off of me and put on my shoes. I grabbed my coat and flew out the window. I flew past the river and tree. I landed in the middle of the woods by the hospital and ran till I reached the ladder. I knew she was up there. There wasn't a doubt in my mind. I could smell her. I reached the top and stopped for a moment. She was sitting cross legged with snow all around her. She was mad and the expression on her face made it clear. Her hand was scribbling in a book. I floated the rest of the way on the building. I went to her and sat. I was out of breath. I didn't know I could ever be out of breath. I don't know why I came to her so quickly.
She turned her head quickly to look at me. It sent a wave of strawberry smell in my face. "What do you want?" I didn't really mean it to sound mean. It's just the way it comes out. She got mad and slammed a piece of paper into my chest. She thought it hurt, but I could barely feel it. She stormed off to the edge of the hospital. She looked beautiful. I had tried to avoid being around her because of this. Her long hair swayed while she walked. If she was really mad then she would have left. She was in reality sad. I really couldn't take the look that she had on. I didn't want to see her hurt and the smell of her was sending me into a trance. I looked down and read the page.
I read it but didn't pay attention much attention to it. I was already in this, so I might as well be invested. I got up and looked over her. She looked incredibly depressed. I didn't think she would take the no this hard. "You shouldn't lay in the snow when your sick." She told me she didn't care and I could she really didn't. "Oh and you say I have bad manners." I helped her up. She tried to push me away, but I grabbed her hand. It was so warm against my chest. It was the first time I had felt something so warm. I couldn't help but to tell her I wanted to be her friend. I wanted to be so much more than that. Her eyes weren't glowing anymore they were just brown. She made me promise that I would be nice to her. I couldn't help but give her what she wanted. I wanted her to smile.
