"Alright." A pale, bony hand crept around a tree a few meters from where I was standing. Then came an arm, equally bony and decrepit. An unclothed, unusually flexible leg twisted around before I was given the honor of seeing a girl who looked barely over thirteen. Her slim figure was petite; like a teenage Alice in Wonderland complete with honey blond hair and blue eyes. Only problem? Her hair was plastered to her head with a mixture of river sludge and water and there was a bright purple and red corona around those blue orbs of hers. The only thing she had to protect herself from the elements was an orange t-shirt. She wasn't wearing a bra, and I was pretty sure she was thankful for the water that elongated the hemline of her shirt.
"Oh Lord." I said, looking up to the stormy sky for guidance.
"Y-you want me to answer your question?" Her limbs shook like a baby deer's as she walked towards me."Because I c-can now."
"You sure?" I beckoned her over with outstretched arms. "Because we can just let him be if you wa-" Her right cheek was against my chest within seconds of me opening my mouth to finish the word.
"He saved my life!" She sobbed. "He saved my pure, innocent life-" She wrapped her arms tighter around my waist. "He was too good to die!!" She howled into shirt.
"Indeed, he was." I said. I was returning the hug, the wish for the compassion she desperately needed. "Good was an understatement; he was perfection."
