The sun shone through her window. It has been cloudy all week, and it was supposed to rain today. But it didn't. Sometimes life is as unpredictable as the weather. Or perhaps, sometimes even more. Kelsi looked out the window. She could still see the dense cloud above, with a hole in the sky. A hole large enough for the sun to shine through, that without looking at the sky, anyone would have thought it be a clear sky.
Kelsi closed her eyes and let the warm sun lick her eye lids. The warmth soothed her, and the world seemed like a peaceful place again. She smiled, first with happiness, then sadness. Memories rushed through her head. It seemed as if she had lived forever, although she was just 21. Kelsi's life was not like others. But again, everyone's life is unique. For people who did not know her well, Kelsi appeared to be boring and lifeless. But Kelsi had been through more than people would have thought. She had feelings too. But she just stopped showing them three years ago.
Kelsi went to college three years ago. Upon entering campus, she promised herself to never be involved in any more dramas. High school was enough. Since then, she had been very quiet. Her life was simple; she only went to classes, eat, nap, go on the Internet to read random things, and do homework. She did not make many friends. In fact, she did not hang out with anyone for the first three months in college. She needed a rest, from people. The only friends she chat with were her best friends from high school and people from the cyberspace.
For some reason, Kelsi would always turn to her online friends when she had problems with people from her "real" world. There was something about them not knowing anyone in her real life that made her able to entrust them with her secrets. She had befriended and lost contact with many since she was fourteen. But there were some she still chat with until her college years, and perhaps later in her life. One of them was Michael. She got to chat with him through a mutual friend, whom she had long forgotten how she got to know. She lost contact with that friend long ago, and she almost lost contact with Michael. But he never changed his email address. So, he remained in her friend list, though they had not talked for years.
