This is what's next...
Lenni wants beer. She fancies herself as "needing" it. But we all know she is just craving it. This is how Lenni copes now that she is old enough to drink.
"Can't she let me be happy?", Lenni thought angrily. Her family stopped at a bar to get lunch before they went home. She was going to get her ID from the car. But her mom ordered "You won't be needing your ID!"
Lenni was angry. After what she went through last night, she did not think she could be happy without beer. Then she was alarmed, temporarily, that this might be her first step into becoming an alcoholic.
Nothing really bad happened last night, really. The whole family was just mad at each other. Lenni was yelled at, and she did not like it at all. She was done with her family. If it was not for her grandmother, she thought she would never return home again after she graduated.
Perhaps marriage can save her?
"No, I've been reading 'Pride and Prejudice' too much", Lenni woke up to reality. What does it mean for her to get married? It means that she shall be annoyed more than ever with her mother. Her mother shall monitor their every move.
"Can I do that to someone I love?", Lenni asked herself. Her heart was already broken, when she thought of this. How would it be like to be so much in love with someone, and receiving the same feelings in return, and having to make this decision?
"I shall be the most miserable creature on this planet", she answered herself gloomily.
It was settled, for the thousandth time, that she shall never get married.
"I am supposed to be happy", Lenni thought heartbrokenly.
"What's the point of being healthy, then? I shall want to die before I get too old to take care of myself. Retirement homes don't sound like fun to me.
Heck, I don't even need to be pretty now. I shall be able to have all the beer in the world I want."
