A year, or so.
and working our way upstairs. Once we finished that, we set up the TV and the Playstation 3, so we could be entertained. The boys played a few rounds of DC versus Mortal Kombat while I provided commentary, and then we set up our bed area. While there were no specific plans to sleep in the house, I knew that would be the case. We settled in and put on 28 Weeks Later, which I suggested (surprisingly). I usually hate horror movies, but this one was awesome. Zombies always provide for an interesting plot line. Shortly after the movie ended we curled up and fell asleep, with the distant sounds of Batman Returns on the 60 inch flat screen television.
It's been two days since I began my stay at Bryan's new place. Frank and I made dinner Monday night after Bryan got home from rehearsal, and then we watched Zombieland before we went to bed. Frank woke us up at 7:30 to say goodbye, he had to go home and get breakfast with his dad before his flight back to Florida. Bryan and I did some serious shopping at Wal-Mart, getting stuff for the house like food and cleaning supplies. When we got back to the house we got everything in order and made lunch. Bryan snagged a few cheap DVD's and a new video game, which I have become obsessed with. And not like "Oh my God I just want to play this forever" but more of a "Wait, she came here from Soul's Edge, but where was she before this? What has she done that has caused her to need to restore her honor?" Yeah, it's gross.
Last night we realized that we were going to miss the Glee season finale because Bryan still hasn't called the cable company, so we went to my house (which is 3 blocks away) to visit with my mom and watch it. It was nice to see her, but I can tell that the time apart was really necessary. When we see each other and live with each other it just becomes too much, and eventually we wind up getting very frustrated with each other. She asked me if I had done anything on my monumental to-do list, as if I haven't been goofing off the entire time I've been with Bryan. I didn't come to this house to be an adult. I came here to be an overgrown child, and so far its worked. Staying up all night, eating junk food, playing video games, yelling obscenities at scary movies. It's so much easier to pretend to be a child than to act like you're grown up. Unfortunately for many, the child act isn't pretend.
