SHOWER
I like showers, they are refreshing. Especially when you get half way frozen in the middle of rinsing the conditioner from your hair. I dont scream out when a rather rapid temperature shift happens. Sadly my friends are confused when flushing a toilet or running the tap has no affect on me.
Mostly I like showers becuase if the temperature is right and stays that way, you can lose not only track of time but track of yourself. I have a routine. (Get naked obviously) Turn on hot water; wait. Turn on cold water, turn hot water nob off untill shower head shakes test water. If its cold turn hot back on, and adjust to perfection. Left leg in first, full body follows. Tilt head back, feel water work its way into my hair, down my back and butt. Savor this sensation.
I let my chin rest against my chest and get lost in the water falling all over me. Course I have a limited hot water supply and being a girl I have a lot of shit to do in the shower! Shampoo twice, condition clip hair up, exfoliating gloves on soap up and exfoliate body; legs first, get shaving over with. Work way up body, armpits; contemplate last time shaved...lastly face, with different scrubby.
Let hair down, run fingers through it and feel the silky smooth that only conditioner can offer. Reach hand behind back and slowly start turning off hot water, temperature drops in measured amount, then its ice cold and only on my head. Turn off water all together, and let cold slink its way down my spine. Baby oil to keep skin soft. Shower done. I'm back to reality in 20 minutes. I could have been anywhere. Just anywhere but here. Here I have too much to remember too much to think about, and no way to escape. So I shower at the very least every other night depending on how icky I get during the day. And I leave my house, my crumby town, I leave my head. I leave. I've left. I'm back in 20 minutes or less, rarely more.
