half chuckled. "Like today?" she asked. "Yeah, why not?" he said. "Hey, think about it. I'll give you my number, and if you guys decide to come just call me. I'll come and pick you guys up." "Suree...", I said grabbing my phone. "Here, put your number in my phone and I'll put mine in yours", I said as our phones traded hands. "How come you don't have a pool?" he asked as we entered each others contacts. "Maybe 'cause I never asked for one 'cause I never had friends to come over or anything", I said impulsively. As soon as it was out of my mouth, I wished I hadn't said it. Zane looked up at me. "Well, I'm about to change that", he declared handing me back my phone. I laughed. "Haven't you heard any of the things Janessa has said about me?" I asked bitterly. He didn't argue with me. He just looked at me with his beautiful eyes and quietly said, "We shall see..." With that, he turned around and entered the school. After school Candace came home with me again (little did I know what a tradition I was starting). "So you wanna go swimming?" I asked her as we walked in the door. I almost laughed at school when Janessa and her little group came up to Candace trying to persuade her to join them. She spat out "NO!" at them and turned and walked down the hall with me. Epic fail for her. "Well, that would be nice, but I don't have a swim suit". "I have tons that I've never used", I said tossing one to her. "Should I call him?" "Go ahead", she said going into the bathroom to change. I NEVER called guys. This was going to be a first. Just then my phone rang. The caller ID said "Zane, your new friend and yes it will all be okay (:" I couldn't help smiling. "Hello?" "Hey, u'mm I know I told you to call me, but I just thought that I'd u'mm call first, you know?" He must have "seen" my grin because I heard him relax. "So do you guys wanna come?" "Yeah, that'd be cool", I answered. "Okay, where do you live? I'll come pick you up." "I can drive...", I began, but he cut me off. "Not today, its my treat", he insisted. "Okay, okayy...", I said telling him where I lived. I put on my suit and pulled a t-shirt and shorts over mine, and gave a shirt and shorts to Candace too. By the time we were ready, Zane pulled right up. I admired his plush sports car. "Wow, cool car!" Candace exclaimed. "Thanks!" he grinned jumping out to open the door for us. Candace climbed in the
