Shifting Winds
Zane would totally ignore me. But as I was going toward the door, I heard "Hey Xiana, wait up!" I stopped. He walked over. Suddenly my heart began to beat. What if he was going to turn into a guy version like Janessa?? "Where's your friend?" he asked smiling. I visibly sighed with relief. "I haven't seen her yet, but I'm sure she'll be here", I answered smiling. "Cool. I wanna meet her", he said still giving that amazing smile. I had never cared about guys. Until I turned 16. Then I wondered why I was so ugly and why no guys liked me. Here was a guy talking to me. No, that didn't mean he "liked" me but it was better then before. "I'll introduce you", I assured him. "I'll walk you in", he said opening the door for me. I looked down at my grey skinny jeans and black and grey plaid shirt. "I didn't know you had blue eyes until I talked to you yesterday", he said grinning. I blushed. "Yeah, I have no idea where they came from", I said as I saw Candie leaning up against her locker. "Hey Candie", I called to her. "I want you to meet someone. This is Zane. Zane, this is Candie." "Its cool to meet you! Is Candie your real name?" Zane asked with this typical smile. "Nice to meet you too, and my real name is Candace", Candie said softly. "So I'm gonna call you Candace; it sounds more interesting. Well I gotta get to class, I'll see you guys around. Bye Xiana, bye Candace!" he said sauntering off down the hall. Both of us let out the breath that we didn't know we were holding in. "How did you meet him?" she asked incredulously. I told her the little story. "He wants to hang out with us sometime", I said as we walked to class. "Wow...", she said solemnly. After school Candie ( or Candace ) came over. First, I washed her hair. I was amazed at what happened. Her hair was naturally wavy and beautifully thick. I trimmed it some and cut her bangs. She looked absolutely adorable when I finished. Then I gave her some of my older jeans and tops. Even an older pair of Vans. When she came out of the bathroom I could barely believe my eyes. Candace was quite beautiful. "Candace!" I cried, "you look AMAZING!" I could tell that even she thought so as she looked in the mirror. "What'll Alex say?" she asked thinking of her older brother. "He'll agree", I assured her.
