to say to you, but..." Again his voice trailed off. He finally looked up with a sheepish/boyish grin on his face. "Your an awesome girl, and I hope we can become better friends." Now I smiled back. "I hope so too". We walked back to the car and he opened the door for me. Such a gentleman. After he dropped me off, I jumped right into my car and drove to Candace house. She was sitting on the steps waiting for me. "You did come!" she cried as I pulled in. "Of course, you didn't think I would stand you up, did you?" I asked, slightly hurt that she didn't trust me. "Well...you were going with Zane. I thought that you might forget". I could understand that. We sat on her steps and I told her Zane's story. She was just about as shocked was when he told me. When I finished, she was crying softly with me. "Candace, do you want to accept Jesus too?" I asked her. "I've never felt such peace as I felt when we finished praying..." Tears trickled down my face. I could see her eyes filling with tears too. "Yes, Xiana, I really want to." Although I really didn't know how to pray, I did the best I could. When we finished praying Candace looked up beaming at me. "Your right! Jesus does change things!" I hugged her hard then shot off for home.

Zane:
I walked in the kitchen where I knew my mom would be after dropping Xiana off. She was really amazing. I had to admit that to myself. My mom smiled as I walked in. "Did you have a nice time?" I bent and kissed her on the cheek. "Sure did, really nice time". Mom gave me a slightly knowing smile. "Mom, I introduced her to Jesus..." I said softly. She was silent for a few moments as her eyes brimmed with tears. "Zane, ever since the day I met that girl, I prayed and prayed that someday she would come to Jesus. I am so thankful", she said huskily. She opened her arms to give me a hug and I gladly accepted it. Although I was already a head taller then her when they adopted me, I still felt like her little boy. She hugged me harder. "Zane, I know you already know this, but I just have to tell you. Xiana is a REALLY special girl; she's one of the most loving people I have ever met. Please be careful. You know what I mean. For her sake." "I promise you mom, I won't ever intentionally do anything that would hurt her...I love her mom", I finished softly. She pushed me back and looked up into my eyes. "Are you sure?" she asked quietly. "Very sure", I affirmed. She smiled. "Good". That was all she needed to say. I smiled the rest of the day.
