His sister handled the money while Tavish worked on damaged farming equipment and many other items in need of repair. There were fifteen people waiting in the garage while the brunette mechanic worked on their mechanical items. Most of them sat and chatted to one another, and the ones who didn't feel like being sociable sat there and watched the mechanic's handiwork.
"Hey, Tav, I'm going out for a bit. I'm on my break," his sister smiled at him.
Victoria took her lunch break to go buy Tavish and herself some food for the coming hour. Her brother would be working on already paid for repairing jobs so he probably wouldn't even notice she was gone. She smiled and exited the aluminum garage onto the cobblestone street. Many of the shops on this street were run by machinery that the two mechanics had built together. They called the engines Ampersands because they had a component that looked like the symbol for "and". The engines were made to keep the insides of the shops cool while eliminating any unwanted smells in the air.
The machines whistled and let out the occasional hiss of steam as she walked down the street, looking from left to right for that special new shop that opened up. It was a new component shop for mechanics everywhere, and the architectural structuring of the building was smooth and interesting. Every other building down the market street were clunky and unattractive.
The soft tapping of her steel-toed heels alerted the clerk of her arrival in the clean shop. It was unfortunate that it hadn't run on Tavish's Ampersand machine or it would have been cooler and smelled better. Her lustrous brown curls bounced this way and that as she flounced up to the counter. She leaned over, resting her elbows on the warm counter of the shop and began to dazzle the clerk with her signature looks. The young man smiled as he tipped his work-hat to her and placed his gloved hands on the counter.
He wore stripes, red and white button up shirt underneath that dusty-gray looking mechanics jumpsuit. His blue eyes examined the features of her face as she looked around at the tools that were laid out before her. She examined a brass wrench with a walnut handle. Whoever made it did some fine work.
"How may I help you Ma'am?"the man smiled showing a toothy grin.
"Oh, yes. I work at the repair shop down the street and we're in need of a new set of Hollies. What brand do you have in stock?" Victoria gazed at the sets he had laid out but none of them were what she was looking for. She wanted endurance and durability that could last until they died. She looked down at a nice looking Holly on the table. The handle was made to custom fit to the owner's hand, and the long, slender titanium tip made it easy to prod and loosen unwanted gunk and bolts from their place. The component of the tool that gave it it's name looked like the berries from a holly
