Officers spotted an abandoned Prius in an alleyway just outside of the Regis University campus. They stopped, sensing something supisious about the whole thing. They arrived at the car to find signs of a struggle, a broken window, and two medium-sized boxes laying in the back seat. One box was filled with copies of a new best-seller, "The Silence Chronicles," written by an overnight sensation with no name. The other box contained some of Michelle's personal belongings, including a package for Ms. Nichole Craig. After further investigation, they reasoned that Ms. Ramos had been abducted from her car.
Everyone that had known Michelle couldn't believe the news. It was devastating to hear such an event had occured, and that she tried to get away but failed. For a few months, police and the family sent one search party after another, hoping to find a shred of evidence that could point out Michelle's whereabouts. Time after time, the search came out with an empty hand and a solemn heart. Finally, after a year, police gave up and set her case aside. The family, however, continued to search for another two years, but ended with the same conclusion: Michelle was nowhere to be found.
Nichole Craig recieved the package soon after the police dismissed her case in 2012. They gave it to her passively, thinking nothing of how much it meant to Nichole to have this little piece of her friend. When the police left, Nichole opened the package. Inside the package was a copy of "The Silence Chronicles" with a cross sketched on the front cover. "This is the author's signature!" Nichole exclaimed to herself. With that, there was a note. "To Nichole, I wish I could be here in person to give you this box, but as you can clearly see I cannot. This book, as you may or may not have already noticed, has the famous sketch of a cross as the author does with all her signed copies. Read it and enjoy. I'll see you when I see you. Michelle."
Nichole kept it close to her, even when she was promoted to be a Special Agent in Los Angeles. It was the book she took with her unto the flight to LA, and it was the only thing she kept in her personal space besides the blank book Michelle had given her. It was now filled with sketches of scenery, people, buildings, and anything that reminded her of happiness. But that one morning in August 2030, she wondered if that once blank book was more important than she once assumed.
