Special Agent Criag now sat in a conference room with Special Agent Andrew Asch and Agent Ethan Cain. All were agents in LA- and now, they considered themselves friends of Michelle. Their titles useless. "We haven't looked at this thing in- almost 20 years." Nichole said, wondering if she should be ashamed or in awe.
"Andrew had me rush it in from Pueblo's Police Department." Ethan commented, standing out of his leather chair to open the lid.
"Wait, Ethan." Andrew said, stalling Ethan, "Let's take a minute to think about if we really want to open this case again."
Ethan sat in his seat again, annoyed with this hesitant behavior. Nichole looked at the box and the detective's writing of "Ramos, M. Case number 60498," written with a black marker almost 20 years ago. Andrew also looked at the writing, but didn't think about it. He absently saw a small image on the bottom of the container. He looked away, but then looked back in surprise. "What is this?" Andrew said, standing out of his chair and getting closer to the box.
"What do you see, Andrew?" Nichole asked.
"It's- it's a cross with four dots around it." Andrew answered, sitting down.
"I saw that on the corner of the note you got, Andrew." Ethan mentioned, putting the note next to the pic on the box. Same symbol.
"Ok, no more tip-toeing around this. We need to reopen this case." Nichole said.
"But- we haven't got word from the supervisor-" Andrew started, but Nichole interrupted him.
"I AM the supervisor!" she exclaimed, "And I said we can reopen this!"
Ethan, now getting excited to reopen the case, pulled out a pocket knife and cut the tape that sealed the case box. He pulled all the tape off and threw it to the side. Andrew, only a step behind him, took off the lid and threw it off to the side. Whatever was in there, it made Andrew blink in awe. If there was a movie effect for this moment, it would be a golden light shining out of the box. Until Andrew said, "What happened?" Nichole and Ethan looked into the box. There was nothing there, save writing on the bottom of the box: "The evidence you seek is with the Nine."
