The Riverwalk never looked better as Andrew, Nichole, and Ethan pulled into the parking lot. The grassy areas were emerald green, the water was clear and reflected the sun's light playfully. There were a few food and drink shops nearby to get something quick, just in case. Andrew was the first to the newest bridge, which was the Veteran's Bridge. He walked to the top of the bridge and stared down at the water below. Ethan walked beside him and leaned against the railing of the bridge. "It's amazing what can happen in twenty years." Ethan commented off-handedly. Andrew nodded, continuing his blank gaze into the water.
Nichole came to the bridge and looked toward the north where the parking lot was. As she looked up, three more cars drove into the lot, stopped in a parking space, and shut off. Out of the first two cars came two people, and the third car held three. They all stopped to greet each other before walking toward the bridge. "That has to be the rest of the Nine." Nichole concluded, more to herself than Ethan and Andrew.
"Where are their gifts?" Ethan asked, seeing their empty hands.
"I told them we would find a different meeting place to look at the gifts. I got the idea while I was calling them." Andrew answered.
"Clever thinking, Andrew." Nichole complimented, calmly walking down the bridge to meet them. It had been a long time since she had seen them.
Renee was the first to greet Nichole. "Oh my gosh, Nichole! I haven't seen you in ages!" she said with a hug. The rest followed suit, sharing hugs and handshakes. Once everyone got reaquainted, Nichole brought Ethan and Andrew foward. "Ethan and Andrew are also friends of Michelle, and agents that I work with, so we have agreed to team up and solve this case once and for all." Everyone quickly introduced themselves, but everything was suddenly quiet. "There are only ten of us here... shouldn't there be eleven? Who was the last of the Nine?" Katie thought aloud.
"Well, for starters, it was a guy. I remember that much." Matt answered.
"And he was a little older then Michelle." Cuthrell continued.
"About my age- well back then anyway." Wiley added.
"We will just have to continue without him. Maybe we will remember later on." Nichole concluded. Everyone left. Including the man.
