"My God - what is this place?"
"It's a CD store - it's a store that sells CDs."
"What's a CD?"
"It's like, music used to be stored on things, on these discs called 'Compact Discs', CDs. If you wanted an album, you had to buy one of these discs."
"And you put it, in like, a machine that plays the music?"
"Yeah, a CD player, y'know, a boom box. Machines with big speakers on them."
(looking at the aisles filled with discs) "Wow, it's like some gigantic storage hangar, this place is huge!"
"What do you want to get?"
"Uh, is that how it works? I tell you what I want and someone goes and gets it?"
"No, you're free to walk around. You pick the music out yourself."
"But how do I know where to go?"
"Well it's divided into genres, like types of musci, and from there it's alphabetical. What do you want to get?"
"Uh... oh man. What do I want to get. Uh, Radiohead. That new Radiohead."
"Okay, so we're in the Rock n' Pop section, which is good. So we're gonna go down to 'R', which is down this way. Follow me. Okay 'Q'... Here we go. 'R' Now - let's see here - right here - Radiohead."
"Oh, okay, I think I'm getting the hang of this."
"So you want 'King of Limbs', that's the new one right. So we got Pablo Honey, Ok Computer, Pablo Honey again, and... hmm, I don't see it here. Let me check underneath." (He bends down to check the bottom storage shelf.) Hmm, I guess it's sold out."
"Oh, okay... it's sold out."
"Yeah."
"That kinda sucks."
"Well, it's popular, y'know. We'll get some other copies by, like, end of next week. Definitely end of next week, we should have some."
"Alright... well, do I wait til next week or do I just go to iTunes on my phone right now and download it."
"CDs have, like, cover art. They have booklets with like, more art in them, and liner notes that tell you how they thank and stuff."
"Alright man, well good talking to you. Take it easy."
"Wait - what else do you want. Hey!" (He silently weeps.)
