Finally, Kelly spoke.

"...I'm just not sure anymore."

As if pierced through the heart by a dagger nine feet long, Derek's look was of shock and dismay. It was as if he didn't realize what he had just said. Kelly did.

"I think you're right. Whenever I'm around you, I just get so angry with you, and I'm just a jerk. You are a really nice guy, and you deserve better than this."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa", Derek interjected, "I haven't been that great myself..."

He sat there, thinking about all the times he and Kelly had spent lying on the futon. He had ruined this. It was beautiful to him, their relationship. It had begun so beautifully. They were in love from the start.

His mind drifted back to before they were dating, to laying out on the baseball field in dandelions, holding her hand, claiming that he was trying to close her hand around the bills that he had given her to pay for lunch. They both knew what they were really doing. It was romantic, and they were eating it up.

Just as they both knew what they were doing then, they both knew what they were doing on the futon. Derek always knew that he was destroying it with his lust, and every night that he would pray to God telling Him that he would talk to her, he knew that he never would.

"Should we break-up?" Derek asked.
