October 23- Today I will be continuing my short story that I began yesterday.
Lily gazed at the necklace, as though in a trance. "Lily?" Ann asked uncertainly. Her voice snapped Lily out of her trance. "Yeah?" Lily asked Ann. "nothing..it was just...nothing" said Ann. Lily nodded. "yeah...OK...i am going to see how much this costs." said Lily walking to the shopkeeper of the booth. Lily stopped in front of her. "How much is it?" Lily asked her. The shop keeper, who was an old woman, looked surprised at seeing Lily with the charm. "Oh! Well, you can have it for free!" said the old woman. Lily smiled "Thanks!" Lily walked to Ann, "Look at what I got Ann!" Ann looked at the necklace, oddly, as if she did not like it "How much did it cost?" Lily looked at her friend "She gave it for free, seemed as if she did not want it...Well, at least I got it! Its so pretty!" Ann looked suspicions "For free? That seems odd." Lily looked at Ann, annoyed. "Your just mad because I got it first. I am going home!" Lily turned to the door and left, leaving Ann looking shocked and hurt.
Lily went home, keeping the necklace in her pocket. Every few minutes Lily made sure it was still there. Once she reached home, she went inside and headed for her room. She sat on her bed and took out the necklace. She heard a knock on the door and looked up. It was her mom. "Hi, where is Ann?" her mother asked. "She went home." Lily said. Her moter nedded and sat on Lily's bed. "What is that?" her mother said, reachoing for thenecklace. "Its mine!" Lily said snatching the necklace out of her mother's reach. "Lily!" Lily looked at the necklace then to her mom. "Sorry, mom, I do not know what came over me. Here." Lilly said handing her mother the neckalce. "Thank you. " Her mother looked at the necklace for a minute then handed it back to Lily. "Dinnner is in one hour." her mother said, leaving Lily's room. Lily stood up and shut the door. SHe picked up the beautiful necklace and opened the clasp. She put it on. As soon as she put it on,she felt odd. Lily tucked the necklace under her shirt, happy rhat she had found the necklace. Lily stood up- and walked over to one of the birds in her room. This bird was her favorite, it was a hawk. The hawk flew on her shoulder and chirped. Lily smiled. "Hello." She chirpped back to the bird. TO BE CONTINUED...
