October 9-Today I will be writing a short story.
Kate sat up in bed and stretched. She got out of bed and stretched. She looked at the calendar and realized that today was March 1! Today was her birthday! She had waited weeks and weeks and now it was finally her birthday! She started at the calendar "How could I have forgotten?" she thought. She was now 12! She happily changed and headed downt he staris toward her motther. She changed and went down to the kitchen. "Hello, Mom." she said as she entered the kitchen. "Hello, birthday girl" her mom said smiling, as she cooked breakfast. Her mom gave Kate her favorite breakfast, homemade waffles. As Kate ate, she hoped that her parents had gotten her the present she had wanted since she was 5, a cat. She had been asking for a cat ever since then, but her parents had never gotten her one. They always made excuses, like we do not have enough room or that cats were too much work. But Kate had kept on asking. Hopefully, her parents had finally listened to her pleas and gotten her a cat.

Kate had opened all of her presents. Sh had gotten toys, clothes, and a phone. Sh was happy about her new stuff, but was disappointed that she didn't to get as cat. Sh heard her dad pull up. He had left right after her party was over and did bot tell her where he had gone. SH guessed that he had to go work. She opened the front door as her dad came out of the car. "Hi Dad." Kate said glumly as she walked towards him. He opened the door and pulled out a large box with holes in it. KAte gasped as she opened the box. TO BE CONTINUED...
