Potomac Fiver and Tennessee Fishing
Hit 2 ponds on Saturday November 5th. It was rather cold. I dressed with layers. Inner layer was a Capilene light weight long sleeve shirt. Mid layer was a long sleeve cotton shirt. Insulation layer was a zip up fleece jacket Outer layer was a wind proof water resistant jacket with a hood. I was basically warm except for the fingers.
First pond was fairly large in the shape of a kidney. It had grass rock and wood structure. There were some willow trees that lined the bank. There was a large drainage pipe on one end. The water was fairly clear considering the rain a couple of days ago.

The temperature was 60 deg but with the wind it felt like it was in the 50's. Around 1600 the temperature dropped dramatically. I first I started with a swim bait and I had 2 blow up's near the surface then no bites after that. I was able to coax a few bass to hit a senko.
At first I threw a 5 inch senko and did get hits but no solid bites. I broke the worm in half and caught 3 bass in the grass. They were about a pound and a half cookie cutter fish. Healthy fish never been caught before. We fished the area for an about an hour. Jimmy zeroed at that pond.

Stopped by Dicks to pick some gear. I picked a few new cranks that were on sale. They should work well on Boone TVA when we go back. Jimmy said Boone Lake was down about 20 feet. I wish I lived close by to video the lake structure and take some photos.

We then hit Budweiser pond and fished it for an hour. I started out with a swim bait and threw it shallow. As I was starting to reel it in a heavy weight was on the line and by rod bent in half. It wasn't a huge or powerful strike just a dead weight feeling. I did not really set the hook and the fish got off. I threw a senko 5 inch and let it sit. No jerking or lift and drop. I just let it sit there. When I went to lift the bait a few inches there was weight on the line. I set the hook and brought in a nice two and a half pound fish.

Over all I missed 4 fish. Jimmy connected with 3 fish and missed a bunch. Not a bad day considering it is November and pretty cold.
